Research Chat

Follow-up questions on the passage you are looking at, answered with sources, on the paid tiers.

Research Chat opens under the analysis once the analysis finishes. It is a conversation about the passage in front of you, not a general chatbot: it knows which query you searched, which verses came back, and which themes and cross-references are attached to them.

Two modes

The chat header tells you which model answered:

  • ⚡ Fast Mode — the quick conversational model. Most questions belong here.
  • 🔍 Research Mode — a slower, deeper pass for contested or technical questions. Answering takes noticeably longer and costs more, which is why it sits on the top tier.

The mode you pick is remembered for the next time you open the chat.

What it is good at

Questions that start from the passage in front of you:

  • “What is the historical context of this passage?”
  • “How do Jewish and Christian readings of this differ?”
  • “What does the Hebrew word here actually mean?”
  • “Are there parallel accounts in the Quran?”
  • “Who was the original audience?”
  • “Which scholars hold this reading?”

What it does for you

  • Sources on every reply — the same numbered citation list the analysis gives, printed under each answer.
  • Clickable verse references — a reference in an answer opens that verse in place, so you can check the claim without leaving the conversation.
  • Session persistence — the exchange is saved with the session, so reopening a past search brings the conversation back with it.

Where the context ends

The chat holds the current query and its verses. It resets when:

  • you run a new search,
  • you start a new session,
  • or you reload the page mid-conversation on a session that was never saved.

Keep the tab open through a long line of questioning, and expect to restate the thread if you jump to a different passage.
